Tobacco smoking is the leading cause of preventable death and illness in Australia and is known to increase the risk of lung cancer, cardiovascular disease, coronary heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and many other conditions.

There are around 3,400 deaths attributed to tobacco smoking in Queensland each year.

Passive smoking (breathing in someone else’s smoke) is also a proven health hazard.

Quitting smoking greatly reduces your risk of developing cancer and other diseases.
