What is ice?

Most of the effects of stimulants are experienced while the drug is present in a person’s system. As the drug starts to leave a person’s body, withdrawal effects can include:

  • irritability
  • lethargy
  • mood swings
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • paranoia
  • difficulty sleeping

It takes about 5 days for methamphetamine to leave a person’s system and early withdrawal effects may last up to 14 days. It’s best to be aware of your moods and get plenty of food, rest and water. Your doctor may be able to help you at this time.

Withdrawal can be an extremely unpleasant experience, can last for an extended period for some people, and interferes with usual daily activities and function.
