An overdose is when a drug is consumed in a quantity or concentration large enough to cause severe illness or death. Non-fatal overdose can result in permanent damage. In the event of an overdose, or if you are extremely concerned about your own or somebody else’s safety as a result of taking drugs, contact Emergency Services immediately (dial 000 and ask for an ambulance). See this fact sheet about calling for an Ambulance when illicit drugs have been taken. As ice and other stimulants can have extreme effects on mental health (for example drug-induced psychosis), if you or somebody else is in a state of distress, you should also call an Ambulance.
